Mark Wilmers, 1961-2009, of Gypsum
Mark A. Wilmers, 47, of Gypsum, died on Friday.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wisc., the son of Wilmer and Marge Wilmers. He moved to Vail in 1983, where he met his wife Nancy, and they married in 1984.
Mark was a well-known member of the community and has been a retail manager for the last 24 years. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Eagle.
Mark was an outgoing, loving, friendly, caring, generous man that would dedicate himself to putting others first. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, outdoor activities, the church and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son Craig; daughter Jess; and pet Ginger, all of Gypsum. He also is survived by his father, Wilmer; sisters Sally and Mary and their families; and his brothers, Bill and family, and Jim, from Michigan.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Wilmers.
There will be a vigil and Rosary on Thursday, at 7 p.m., a memorial service on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a reception, all at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eagle.
