Masters Gallery in Vail welcomes back contemporary pop-artist, DeVon on Saturday and Sunday. The new collection comes with a “pop” of color and all the glamour that surrounds our favorite superheroes and Hollywood icons. DeVon’s dreamlike images begin with a superhero, Hollywood star or rock legend. The image soon becomes a detailed piece of art as he creates layers upon layers with images, crystals, veils, and other materials to create a fine balance.
DeVon’s iconic depictions hold a world rich with references to common personal dreams (such as flying), shadow sides and the collective unconscious.
“It’s just my way to make a difference, to tell people to wake up and live their life as if it was their own heroic story,” the artist said.
Stop by this weekend to experience and reminisce as you re-imagine your connection to these beloved characters and perhaps get inspired to live your own story. In addition to unveiling new works, visitors will have the opportunity to meet and greet DeVon.
DeVon will be at Masters Gallery Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free to the public, and family, children and friends are invited share a moment together with the icons and heroes from childhood.
