AVON ” Police ticketed a Vail, Colorado man for taking his anger out on a woman’s car in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Avon

The 57-year-old man’s conflict with the 24-year-old woman started on the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 on St. Patrick’s Day. The woman, who told police that she was trying to switch into the right hand lane to get off at exit 168, said the man was driving slowly in the right lane and impeding her from changing lanes. When she turned her blinker on, she told police that the man sped up, thereby making it even more difficult for her to get over.

She told police that she cut the man off in order to make the exit.

He then followed her into the Wal-Mart parking lot, where he proceeded to yell obscenities at her, the police report said.

Then he took a shopping cart and repeatedly rammed her silver sport utility vehicle, she told police. Her 6-year-old daughter was inside. He also threw a rock at her car before leaving the parking lot and getting back on the highway.

While Avon police took a look at the damage to the woman’s SUV, Vail police tracked the man down at Ford Park in Vail.

The man told police the reason he acted the way he did was because she almost clipped his bumper when she changed lanes on the highway.

Police issued the man a summons for disorderly conduct and criminal injury to property, then released him.
