BEAVER CREEK, Colorado – Celebrate “The King” this holiday season as Blue Suede Shoes, a Elvis tribute bash, rocks Beaver Creek Monday at 7:30 p.m., turning the Vilar Performing Arts Center into Graceland for the night.

The two-act show features two of the world’s finest Elvis impersonators as Mike Albert brings to life the Elvis of the ’70s, while Scot Bruce recreates the ’50s Elvis. Both will be backed by the “Big E Band.”

While pursuing music and acting as a career, Bruce started doing a 1950s-era Elvis show as a way to survive the lean times. The result was a total surprise, as what was meant as a part-time gig blossomed into a full-time career.

Because of his uncanny resemblance to the young “King” and his ability to sing, strum a guitar and swivel his hips, his live show has taken him across the U.S. and around the world, not to mention countless television appearances.

As Elvis, he has appeared in music videos with Faith Hill and Sheryl Crow, while also appearing in recurring roles on the hit soap operas Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful, a Pizza Hut commercial and the California Lottery’s “Elvis” ad campaign.

Albert’s show has become known worldwide for his respectful portrayal of the later period Elvis. He won several major world Elvis contests, and demand for his shows resulted in putting together the seven-piece Big “E” Band to emulate the sound Elvis’ band had in its Las Vegas shows and on tour. Albert’s style and charisma and his ability to get the audience involved in the show have proven to be a crowd pleaser.

His powerful voice lends itself well to every type of Elvis’ music: ’50s, ’60s and ’70s rock and roll and love songs, as well as a very successful gospel show. Since Elvis had so many hits, Albert makes it a point to keep his portion of the show fresh with an ever-changing song line-up.

Their show features a full slate of musical hits made famous by the legendary original, including the show’s title, “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Burning Love,” “Love Me Tender” and “Jail House Rock,” along with the holiday favorite “Blue Christmas” and other songs of the season.

Tickets for Blue Suede Shoes are $58 and are available online at, by phone at 888-920-ARTS(2787) or in person at the Vilar Center box office in Beaver Creek. Tickets are available online 24 hours a day; the box office is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with additional hours on performance days.
