Colorado State Patrol seeks information on fatal hit-and-run in Eagle County
The body of an Edwards man was found down an embankment off of U.S. Highway 6 near Edwards on Tuesday. Eagle County deputies alerted Colorado State Patrol and troopers determined the incident to be a fatal hit-and-run.
The Eagle County Coroner has identified the man as Mario Vildozola Romero, 43.
Using details from a missing persons report, officers determined Romero was struck while traveling on the highway on Sunday between 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m.
The vehicle left the scene and the driver has not been identified.
Investigators are asking the public for help identifying the vehicle and driver responsible for the hit-and-run. Based on evidence found at the scene, the vehicle in question is thought to be a white 2010-2012 Subaru Legacy or Outback and likely contains damage to the front passenger side.
