Stone Creek Chutes open Saturday at Beaver Creek
BEAVER CREEK Colorado ” Stone Creek Chutes, Beaver Creek Mountain’s most extreme terrain, will open Thursday.
The short, steep chutes and gladed runs on the eastern edge of the mountain are for expert skiers and snowboarders only.
In Upper Stone Creek Chutes and Lower Stone Creek Chutes, skiers and riders will discover chutes ranging from 400 to 600 vertical feet with pitches up to 45 degrees, as well as small to moderate cliff bands.
Stone Creek Chutes can be reached by the Cinch Express Lift (Chair 8) and there are two marked entrances off of Red Buffalo Run and Cinch Run.
Record has fallen at the resort this month. Beaver Creek has received more than eight feet of snow in December and another storm is headed to the Central Rockies with heavy accumulation expected through Friday. Beaver Creek will be 100 percent open as of Christmas Day.
