Vail Daily letter: Successful event

Four hundred and seventy-seven teams! Not individual participants, but two-man teams. Wow! It makes me proud to produce not an “iconic” event, but, rather, a feel-good event and competition that brings so many families and competitors to the Vail area for their Father’s Day weekend celebration.

Special thanks to Tony Giroux and his crew at VRD; to the folks at the town of Vail Public Works; to all the local businesses, restaurants and lodges who worked with us; and to Vail Resorts for their gracious contribution(s). All of this combined helped to keep the “community event” feel of the 39th annual Vail King of the Mountain Open volleyfest.
