Vail Daily obituary: Niles Thomason, 1982-2013

Niles Thomason, DVM, 31, of Eagle, died unexpectedly Dec. 25 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born May 2, 1982, in Tulsa, Okla., to Terry Clee and Johnny Thomason.

He graduated a proud Oklahoma State Cowboy with his undergrad in 2003 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. He loved cheering on the Cowboys in football and basketball.



The Thomasons moved to Eagle in 2007, where Niles worked as a veterinarian for Castle Peak Vet Service for the past seven years. He enjoyed concert-going, snowboarding, hiking and everything the mountains had to offer. He loved living in the valley and sharing his love of the outdoors and animals with his son, Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Thomason; his son, Carter Thomason; his parents; his sister, Corrie Phillips; nephew Owen Phillips; brother-in-law, Drew Phillips; grandmother Janet Clee; grandfather John Thomason; dogs Sadie and Lily; and cat, Jasmine.



Funeral services took place in Tulsa on Dec. 30. A celebration of life took place at Bonfire Brewing Co. on Friday.

Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the trust account for Carter Hinson Thomason.
