AVON — The Vail Valley Art Guild will host visiting artist Don Sahli for two, two-day workshops in February at the Art of the Valley Gallery in Avon.
Working in oil, learn how the foundations of color relationships, design and composition create rich, vibrant paintings. Discover the effective use of color and temperature.
In Workshop I, students will work with a still life or plein air study to develop into a larger piece of work. In Workshop II, students will choose an image to work from and use abstraction and modern painting techniques to create an updated classic painting.
Sahli also will hold a demo and art discussion at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday at Art of the Valley Gallery. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public. Call 970-470-4416 to RSVP.
