The Vail Daily’s “Tell Us Your Love Story” contest returns this Valentine’s Day and we want to hear from you. This annual essay competition asks Vail Daily readers to share their best story about how they met their special someone, how they know they were “The One” and how to keep that spark alive years later.

Over the years there have been some heartwarming stories, unbelievable stories and humorous stories. Everything from meeting in an Uber Pool and then meeting again on a Beaver Creek chairlift, getting a ride home in the back of a cop car even before a first date, meeting on Tinder and Match, crashing a Galentine’s Night, and sending flowers from a Secret Admirer.

Nova Guides is a perfect choice for an outdoor date because the tours are designed to be both exciting and approachable, whether you’re cruising through snowy meadows on a snowmobile, taking in alpine vistas and epic mountain ridge lines, or cozying up after your tour with food and drinks at the lodge.

These stories inspire even the most lovelorn. If you’re still looking for love, never give up hope and maybe you can draw some inspiration from these stories.

The contest rules are simple:

  1. Email your 400-word-or-less love story that has ties to the Vail Valley to tswenson@vaildaily.com by Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m.
  2. Send in a high-resolution photo of you and your loved one including your first and last names and phone number.
  3. Watch for the top stories to be announced and printed in the Valentine’s Day edition of the Vail Daily on Saturday, Feb. 14. Other honorable mentions will be on VailDaily.com.

The team at the Vail Daily will pour over the submissions and chose our favorites and those stories will earn prizes:

These prizes capture the essence of not only Valentine’s Day, but also the spirit of adventure in the mountains.

“Getting outdoors is one of the most fun ways to spend a date because it naturally creates shared adventure, genuine connection and those “just us” moments you remember long after the day is over,” said  Scout Albertson, senior marketing manager at Nova Guides. “Our guides take care of the logistics, so couples can simply enjoy the experience and focus on each other.”

Plus, there’s already a bit of romance in the air at Camp Hale. Did you know that Nova Guides’ home, Camp Hale, is a popular wedding destination?

“Camp Hale is where love stories come to life,” Albertson said.

Dinner for two is the quintessential date night activity and the quaint farmhouse setting of Mirabelle at Beaver Creek is just the spot for two lovebirds. Voted Best Fine Dining in the 2025 Vail Daily Best of Vail Valley Awards, cozy up before enjoying exquisite and artistic dishes and fine wine.
