VAIL, Colorado “-New York City modern rock band, The WMDs, are back at The Club in Vail, Colorado for Spring Back to Vail week, Thursday through April 19.

Fresh off the heels of a national tour in February, The WMDs are celebrating the release of their second full-length album “We Are Waves” with 11 nights straight at The Club on Bridge Street in Vail Village.

This is the band’s fourth time visiting Vail to perform at The Club, said Jaime Sturm, lead guitarist for the band.

“We do really well there. The local radio stations have been playing our songs and we’ve developed a following (in Vail). The Club keeps asking us to come back. Our new album has been released and we’re pushing it hard,” he said.

The sound of The WMDs is their own, but often described as Tom Petty meets Radiohead by way of John Mayer. A seemingly disjointed amalgam, but the band wears its influences well, and does them proud. The band’s line-up includes drummer Paul Amorese (Bacci, Hypnotic Clambake), bassist Mike Chiavaro (Spencer Day, Lenka Dusilova), Brian Bauers on guitar and lead vocals and Jaime Sturm on guitar.

Today through Tuesday the band will perform as a trio with Amorese, Bauers and Sturm. Chiavaro on bass will join them beginning Wednesday night.

While an original band at heart, all-night marathon sets have proven The WMDs aren’t afraid to mix it up. Whether reintroducing classic rock staples, resurrecting old school hip-hop, or reinventing current top-40, the band likes to give the audience a show like no other. Join the band on Sunday for an Easter Night Party, where there will be give-aways and drink specials.
