The Gore Creek Promenade Renewal Project in Vail launched on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with crews setting up fencing, moving in equipment and materials and establishing staging areas. The park will be closed through Nov. 13, weather permitting.
Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with fewer hours anticipated as the project progresses. Access to all businesses on the Gore Creek Promenade will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
The last major renovation to the popular park located in the heart of Vail Village was more than 30 years ago, and the grass areas, walkways and other park features are showing significant wear and tear.
Highlights of the renewal include:
- New seating options throughout the park
- Improved access to Gore Creek
- Durable surfaces such as paver and flagstone walkways
- Art installations including a new fire feature
- Natural turf areas
- Accessibility for those with impaired mobility
- New landscaping
The work will be completed in two phases, with the second scheduled from April 20 through June 26, 2026. The $2.1 million project was awarded to Coleman Custom Homes, LTD.
