Letter: Calling all Junior Ski Patrollers
With ski season underway at both Vail and Beaver Creek, we are excited to announce that the Junior Ski Patrol program will return for its third season. We’re thrilled to provide this amazing opportunity for local students to get a behind-the-scenes and in-depth look at all that Patrol does.
This year, students in grades 8-10 are invited to apply with a short video essay to showcase their skiing ability and tell us a bit about why they’d like to be in the program.
On five select Sundays in January and February, alternating locations between Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek Resort, participants will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to be on ski patrol, including medical and first responder skills like CPR, avalanche mitigation skills, toboggan running, and other patrol daily tasks. We’re excited to provide this really unique opportunity for students to see not only what patrol does during a typical day, but also how they do their jobs.
Applications can be submitted at email@example.com. The deadline to submit an application is Dec. 15.
