Chris Romer

Chris Romer serves as President & CEO of the Vail Valley Partnership (VVP). Vail Valley Partnership is the regional chamber of commerce, destination sales & marketing organization, and economic development organization representing Vail Valley, Colorado. VVP plays a leadership role in the continuing process of building trust between the various sectors, geographic & economic and provides community leadership and vision to enhance commerce and economic vitality of the Vail Valley and was named “Chamber of the Year” by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives in 2016.

In his role, Romer leads the Partnership team to help positively impact the community via various programming and tourism endeavors. Romer is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Institute for Organization Management program and has been named a “Top 25 Mind in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management” by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International and “Chamber Executive of the Year” by the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives.

VVP has received the following recognition during Romer’s tenure: “Chamber Innovation Grand Prize Winner” by ChamberMaster (2017); “Core Competency Award” from Western Association of Chamber Executives (2016); “Chamber of the Year”​ winner (2016) and finalist (2015) by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives; “Special Achievement Award” from Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives (2015); “Platinum Choice Award” winner from Smart Meetings (2015); “Top Destination Marketing Organization”​ by Colorado Meetings & Events magazine (2017, 2013, 2011); “Pinnacle Award” winner as Outstanding Destination Support Organization by Successful Meetings Magazine (2010, 2009).

Romer dedicates time to a variety of industry boards and committees including the Western Association of Chamber Executives, Colorado Mountain College, Colorado Tourism Office, Tourism Industry Association of Colorado, Colorado Association of Destination Marketing Organizations, Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives, Northwest Colorado Council of Governments Economic Development Board, Rural Workforce Consortium, and Vail Economic Advisory Council. Romer has also served as a Governor appointee to the Brand Colorado Council and the Colorado Tourism & Outdoor Recreation Key Industry Steering Network.

 

Romer resides in EagleVail, Colorado with his wife (Stacey) and daughter (Kylah), and their golden retriever (Cayman).
