Paulie’s Plunge, also known as Stone Creek Trail, offers mountain bikers and hikers an exhilarating journey through Beaver Creek’s diverse landscapes. Beginning near the Cinch Trail on Beaver Creek Mountain, this singletrack trail plunges riders and hikers through dense aspen groves, over rocky drops, and alongside the serene Stone Creek, culminating near Eagle Drive in EagleVail.

DISTANCE: Approximately 1.7 miles one-way

DIFFICULTY: Difficult (technical terrain with steep descents and obstacles) TIME: 30–45 minutes (bike descent), 1.5–2 hours (hike ascent)



ELEVATION CHANGE: Approximately 1,162 feet descent from 9,157 feet to 7,995 feet

SEASON: Late June through October. Closed from May 15 – June 20 to protect critical winter and birthing habitats for deer and elk.

Be mindful of the trail’s popularity among both hikers and bikers; always yield appropriately and maintain control, especially around blind corners. Additionally, note that the trail is subject to a USFS seasonal wildlife closure from May 15 to June 20 to protect deer and elk during calving season.
