Après All Day at Express Lift Bar

Vail Mountain is hosting Après All Day throughout the season with different DJs spinning tunes on Saturdays and Sundays at the Express Lift Café near Gondola One from 2-5 p.m. This Saturday check out Alana English, who’s no stranger to playing the ski town circuit and has played Après at the Amp and other shows in our area. On Sunday, it’s time for Sunny Side Up. Brought to you by Pepsi and Lalo Tequila, grab some refreshments when you’re done with your ski day. You’ll hear the music before you even reach Mountain Plaza.

Après All Day has been getting an early start during the holidays with DJs spinning tunes in the mornings. Get your coffee buzz while listening to the beats at Gondola One on Friday, which will be the last day of the morning DJs.

Vail Mountain has more DJs on the schedule for the rest of the season. Check out the list at Vail.com. Learn also about Funday Monday, a new offering brought to you by Outer Range Brewing Company on select Mondays in January, February and March this year:

Mountainfilm On Tour at Vilar Center in Beaver Creek

Get ready to be inspired by Mountainfilm On Tour, a collection of adventure-packed and engaging documentary short films that align with Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Mountainfilm was created in Telluride in 1979 and is still bringing the awe to guests across screens. Mountainfilm is held each Memorial Day, and then different films are handpicked for each destination of the tour. Mountainfilm On Tour is on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek.

With a name like Mountainfilm, you’ll off course see epic scenery and lots of mountain adventures including Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and snowboarding in places like Norway, Japan and Alaska, but you’ll also delve into the interesting stories such as a master cobbler from Honduras who now makes shoes for Hollywood’s elite, or a man with autism spectrum disorder who has been a part of his hometown parade outside of Chicago for 30 years and the community comes together when his living circumstances are threatened.

The nine short films range in length from 2 to 25 minutes. The event is hosted in conjunction with the Vail Symposium and will be once again hosted by Jim Butterworth, a Vail Valley local and Oscar award winning documentary filmmaker who was inspired to make his debut film, “Seoul Train” after a Vail Symposium program.
