BEAVER CREEK – New Mexico sculptor Rick Van Ness brings his distinctive lighted sculptures to the Beaver Creek Arts Festival July 29-30 an Aug. 5-6.Van Ness begins each sculpture with vintage non-playable musical instruments, then lets creativity take over, finishing each piece with one or more pieces of hand-blown glass. “Good, intelligent design can be artful and functional,” Van Ness said.

To date, Van Ness has made well over 1,000 of these lighted sculptures with his work selling to collectors through fine art shows plus a select group of contemporary galleries. This is Van Ness’ first trip to Colorado in over a decade.Over 150 artists converge on Beaver Creek Village for two weekends for the art festival. An array of artwork will be on display including watercolors, oil and acrylic paintings, woodworking, glass, sculptures, furniture, mosaics, ceramics, and jewelry.
