Bright Future Foundation will celebrate five years of its BrightHouse emergency housing facility with a special-event chef’s dinner at Splendido on Tuesday, June 30.
Since opening, BrightHouse has provided safety, advocacy and stability to 106 households and 195 individuals, including 89 children. In five years, the emergency housing facility has provided 11,500 nights of safety for individuals and families affected by domestic violence and abuse during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
Hosted by chef-owner Brian Ackerman, the Splendido dinner will take place from 6-9:30 p.m. at Splendido in Beaver Creek. The event will benefit Bright Future Foundation’s work supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and interpersonal violence across Eagle County.
“BrightHouse is more than a shelter. It is a place where survivors can breathe, heal and begin to see a path forward,” said Sheri Mintz, CEO of Bright Future Foundation. “Five years later, we are deeply grateful to our staff, volunteers, partners and community members who have helped make BrightHouse a source of safety and stability for so many families across Eagle County.”
The outcomes show the importance of pairing immediate safety with continued advocacy and housing support. Ninety percent of survivors who stay at BrightHouse move into safe housing when they leave. Seventy percent remain safely in the community. Ten percent enroll directly into Bright Future Foundation’s Rapid ReHousing Program, while another 50% participate in other housing stabilization programs.

The need for Bright Future Foundation’s services has continued to grow. Since 2021, the organization has seen a 20% increase in client utilization and has served 1,200 survivors from the community. That work has been strengthened by 100 volunteers contributing 600 hours of service.
The chef’s dinner at Splendido offers the community a direct way to support that work. For this special evening, guests will gather for a memorable dining experience with a deeper purpose: helping ensure that survivors have access to safe shelter, advocacy, crisis support and a path toward stability.
Bright Future Foundation is also seeking high-value live auction donations, including weekend getaways, private chef dinners, spa or golf packages, artwork and other exceptional items or experiences. Auction proceeds will directly support survivors and families fleeing abuse, including those seeking safety with children and pets.
Five years after BrightHouse opened its doors, Bright Future Foundation continues to see what is possible when safety, advocacy, housing support and community generosity come together. The chef’s dinner at Splendido is an opportunity to celebrate that progress while helping provide the resources needed for the work ahead.
