VAIL VALLEY, Colorado – On Thursday chef Wolfgang Puck will be at Spago in Colorado’s Vail Valley to kick off the First Descents Ski Weekend with a tribute to the legacy of iconic American vintner Robert Mondavi. Some of the proceeds from the event at the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch will benefit local charity First Descents, which provides outdoor experiences for young adults with cancer.”First Descents is excited to begin the weekend with such an exceptional event, and we can’t wait to enjoy great food with our generous supporters,” said Kelley Brupbacher, development director for First DescentsThe dinner is limited to 125 seats, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Puck will pair Mondavi vintages with a five-course tasting menu, featuring highlights from his award-winning restaurants, including Spago, CUT, Chinois, Lupo and Bar & Grill. The chef will also personally assist in preparing each dish. “Spago is thrilled that Wolfgang Puck is in town to host this special tribute dinner,” said Spago Executive Chef Mark Ferguson. “We can’t wait to provide the valley with an exceptional culinary experience – and all to benefit a great cause.” Spago’s dining room will be arranged to accommodate communal seating. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception with Puck at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is set for 7:30 p.m. The evening will end with a live DJ and dancing in the great room from 9 p.m. to midnight.Cost for the dinner is $195 per person; tax and gratuity additional.
