Eagle Flight Days
Get ready for some good old-fashioned small-town fun as Eagle Flight Days returns on Friday afternoon and continues all day Saturday. Eagle Flight Days has been going on for over 100 years and despite the word “flight” in the event title, this has nothing to do with aviation. Eagle Flight Days signifies when the county seat was taken from Red Cliff and moved to Eagle back in 1921. Highlights include a parade, kids zone, a color fun run, the Lion’s Club Pancake Breakfast and plenty of live music.
The Splash of Color Fun Run is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy Eagle. On Saturday, registration starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by the run at 10 a.m. This is a one-mile fun run through Bull Run neighborhood, and it starts and ends at Eagle Town Park. If you’ve never been to a color fun run before, you will be splashed with water and colored powder. Wear a white t-shirt and see how it transforms into a colorful burst once you are done.
The main event in the morning is the parade on Broadway from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday. The theme is Wild About Eagle, and prizes will be given out to the top floats. $250 goes to the best entry in the nonprofit and for-profit floats, so it pays to be creative. The parade ends with the fire department bringing out the big hoses and spraying all who want to cool off and get wet. The fun continues with a whole afternoon and evening with a kids’ zone, vendor market and a pet contest with prizes given out for things like best costume and best trick.
Music is a big part of Eagle Flight Days. On Saturday, enjoy music most of the day at the Centennial Stage at Eagle Town Park:
- 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m.: Stratus Blues Band
- 2-3:30 p.m.: Zachy G and The Love
- 4-6 p.m.: Danger Mountain
- 7-9 p.m.: The Motet

Wallflowers and Brothers Osborne at Vilar Center
The Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek is kicking off its summer concert season with concerts this weekend. The Wallflowers headline Saturday and Brothers Osborne headline on Sunday.
The Wallflowers

The Wallflowers are celebrating 30 years since the release of the “Bringing Down the Horse” album was released on May 21, 1996. Do you remember such hits as “One Headlight,” “6th Avenue Heartache” and “Three Marlenas?” The band will play the entire album in its entirety on Saturday night.
Frontman Jakob Dylan is the son of legendary singer/songwriter Bob Dylan, and although the band has several influences, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are one band the Wallflowers will be paying tribute to during this tour. Petty’s 1982 album “Long After Dark” will be played in its entirety as well.
As of press time, tickets were at limited availability. The seating is listed as reserved, but the orchestra pit will be open for dancing. Showtime is at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 6 p.m.
Brothers Osborne

Brothers Osborne consists of two brothers, John and TJ, who hail from Deale, Maryland and are part of the next generation of Nashville musicians. Their musical talents have racked up a number of awards, including a Grammy award in 2022 and they have been nominated for a Grammy award 13 times. They are six-time CMA Vocal Duo of the Year winners and are four-time ACM Duo of the Year winners.
It’s been 10 years since the country duo’s breakthrough album, “Pawn Shop” came out. In 2023, they released their self-titled fourth studio album, and when they are not touring, Brothers Osborne is working on music to be released later this year.
At press time, tickets for Brothers Osborne were limited with reserved seating and the orchestra pit will be open for this show, too. Showtime is at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. For more information and to buy tickets for either show, go to vilarpac.org.
