Healthier Living Colorado: Chronic Disease Self-Management
What: Whatever the diagnosis, this is the class that teaches and supports participants in making better choices and practicing self-management.
When: Fridays, Jan. 10 through Feb. 14
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Details: These classes are highly participatory, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain an active fulfilling life. This class was developed by Stanford University and will be conducted by local instructors Anne Leavitt and Bruce Carey
Kids Night Out
What: Evening activities for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade
When: Friday, Jan. 10
Time: 5:30 t0 8:30 p.m.
Where: Edwards Field House
Details: Cost is $20. Kids will enjoy a variety of activities which may include: anti-gravity center, gymnastics, rock climbing, Nintendo Wii, sports and more. Pizza, juice box and supervision are included.
Small Steps to Health and Wealth
What: Glenda Wentworth, Colorado State University extension agent, will discuss the links between health and wealth habits, and how making small changes can make a big difference in both aspects.

TIPS Training
What: Colorado Mountain College has scheduled the TIPS training course, a renowned program for people employed in the alcohol service trade.
When: Tuesday, Jan. 21
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Colorado Mountain College in Edwards

Journal to the Self
When: Therapeutic journal writing workshop
When: Tuesday, Feb. 18

Where: Eagle Public Library
Details: The workshop will be presented by local Licensed Professional Counselor Mary Merkling. Merkling is a certified instructor who studied Kathleen Adams, writer of Journal to the Self and founder of The Center for Journal Therapy. Participants are asked to bring a notebook and pen.
