The Borglum & Wild Fine Art Gallery is now open and has a few events coming up that will share the flavor and spirit of this new gallery in Gypsum.
Borglum & Wild was founded in 2023 by two female artists and former colleagues, Marilyn Borglum and Larissa Wild. Borglum has been a contemporary painter for over three decades and holds a terminal degree in the studio arts which gives her an astute understanding of the subliminal mental processes involved in the art-making process and in viewing visual form. Her family lineage includes the likes of Gutzon Borglum, architect of Mount Rushmore and Solon Borglum, most prominently known for his depiction of frontier life.

Wild is the gallery director and has been formally educated in multiple sub-disciplines of the art market as well as in the studio arts. Wild brings over two decades of knowledge and passion for the arts. An experienced gallery director, Wild is a certified member of The International Society of Appraisers and former ISA board member and founder and producer of the award-winning podcast, “The Art Elevator.”
The gallery’s mission is to champion and promote works that demonstrate a strong mastery of the craft of painting, printmaking and drawing, and works that reveal aspects of the human experience, inspect historical cultural issues and events, or investigate formal elements and their association with memory and human processing. Borglum & Wild Fine Art Gallery has a wide range of price points that will appeal to someone looking for a small start to their collection or serious collectors.

Expect to find numerous presentations held throughout the year on topics as wide-ranging as understanding value in art, mid-century modern art connoisseurship, the history of the horse in art, and more.

This Thursday, Borglum & Wild will host an art exhibition featuring paintings by Jared Hankins and other artists. Hankins is a Denver-based artist and the exhibition entitled “Extreme Angles — A Different Perspective on Mountain Majesty” will showcase scenes from Vail, Aspen and Jackson Hole. It will be an immersive experience. Hankins wants the viewer to not only feel how small one can be in the vast beauty of nature but also how they feel so connected to these vast landscapes.
The evening will be festive, with DJ Pippen spinning the tunes, and Mama’s Pierogi food truck offering eats. There will be specialty lemonades and a bake sale benefiting Gypsum’s nonprofit, Little Bird Creative Community. The event is free and will run from 4 to 7 p.m.
