Before you use up all of your energy on the slopes, make sure you save your legs for a bit of dancing happening at the bottom of the hill. Vail has a multitude of musical acts coming to town, starting with Sofi Tukker this weekend, and will carry on the fun and the sounds all through the spring with over 50 live music events.
Sofi Tukker – Dec. 13
Grammy-nominated duo Sofi Tukker will take the stage on Saturday for the ultimate alpine EDM experience. With the help of Discover Vail, AEG Presents and Vail Resorts, the party is moving to Ford Park. Sofi Tukker is one of the hottest acts around right now, with the duo just wrapping up a multi-day stint at Art Basel in Miami Beach, Florida, to head to the cool slopes of Colorado before heading out for international gigs in the New Year.
Sofi Tukker is Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. The two met at Brown University, where Halpern talked Hawley-Weld into creating music together. A decade later, they are traveling the world and encouraging people to “Be Really Energetic And Dance,” an acronym that emerged after their album “Bread” was released in 2024. The album’s name also reflects a desire to bring people together, to gather and share community.
Hawley-Weld was born in Germany and grew up going to international schools around the world. Halpern is from Massachusetts and was looking forward to playing basketball professionally after a promising college career. The two, who are often mistaken for a romantically linked couple, are just best friends who love making music for others.
This show is for the 18-plus crowd (valid identification must be shown upon entry) and tickets are on sale online. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the performance starts at 6:30 p.m. at Ford Park, which is adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, which is closed for renovations this winter. Dress for the elements and be prepared to walk from the Vail Village core or the parking structures, which are free after 3 p.m. For more information, go to https://GRFAVail.com/December_At_Ford_Park/.

In addition to the evening performance, there’s a bonus performance by Sofi Tukker for free from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Eagle’s Nest Rooftop. Starting at 9 a.m., the morning of the show, 400 free wrist bands will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Epic Pass holders have a dedicated stash of these wrist bands, but get there early to ensure you get one. Wristband pickup will be east of the Lionshead ticket office, near the walking path. Do be aware that in order to access the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19) you will need a lift ticket, scenic ticket or Epic Pass to get up there.
John Summit – March 21-22

John Summit is bringing back his Experts Only performances that will once again unite music, snow, and a community of skiers and riders who love both. Summit is a DJ and producer who changed a hobby into a profession after working his day job as a certified public accountant in Chicago. The pandemic gave him more time to work on his craft and now he’s performing at Coachella and Madison Square Garden.
Experts Only is John Summit’s own record label brand. Through Experts Only, Summit is poised to throw one-of-a-kind events in unique locations worldwide. He does credit his accounting background with helping him start his business, read contracts, and manage his brand.
John Summit is his stage name. The DJ was born John Schuster and came up with the Summit part because he loves skiing. His Experts Only label further depicts his adoration of the mountains and extreme terrain, and is one of the reasons Vail has become a regular stop on his schedule.
The past few winters, Summit has not only performed outdoor shows at Chasing Rabbits and Dobson Ice Arena, but also at the rooftop of Eagle’s Nest at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola. Details on his whereabouts will be released closer to the event weekend. Follow @VailMountain on social media for more information.
Dillon Francis – Jan. 9
Other exciting names in the EDM world include Dillon Francis, who will be coming to town on Jan. 9. After playing festivals like Coachella, EDC and Lollapalooza, Francis will perform at Chasing Rabbits at the Rabbit Hole from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Tickets are available at ChasingRabbitsVail.com.
Chris Lorenzo – Feb. 6
Another one of the big names in electronic music these days is Chris Lorenzo. Head to Chasing Rabbits to hear house and bass and get the dance party going after a day on the slopes. For more information, go to ChasingRabbitsVail.com.
Vandelux – March 28
Vandelux returns to the Vail Valley on March 28 and brings its signature sounds of keyboards, pulsating beats and a cascade of melodies during its Ski Tour DJ Set. Tickets and more information are available at ChasingRabbitsVail.com.
Après in Solaris Plaza – Saturdays – Feb. 14-Mar. 28
