TIM GREEN

A native of Baltimore, Tim graduated from that city’s High School for the Performing and Visual arts and was a member of the Grammy High School All-Star Band. He recently received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Dick Oatts, Bob Mintzer and Steve Slage.

Over the years he has played with Roy Hargrove, Cyrus Chestnut, Gary Thomas, Gary Bartz and Wynton Marsalis among others. While in New York City he played at various jazz clubs in the city and across the US.

Tim has been playing with his own band featuring all original music influenced by jazz and gospel. He recently performed at Carnegie Hall’s new Zankel Hall in New York with the Mercy Soul Quintet. He attended the 1998 Vail Jazz Workshop and in the summer of 2003 was invited to be apart of the Jazz Aspen Snowmass summer program where he studied with Christian McBride, Lewis Nash, Benny Green, Wallace Roney and Russell Malone.

After playing and recording with world-renowned gospel artists Isreal Houghton, Fred Hammond and Joe Pace this music has become one of Tim’s strongest influences. His main aspiration as a musician is to use a fiery spiritual approach to develop a sound with that best defines him.
