Vail Daily Town Talk: New Phi Beta Kappa

Nicole Affleck was recently inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honorary society. Ten percent of the nation’s institutions of higher learning have Phi Beta Kappa chapters and fewer than one percent of graduates from these distinguished colleges are invited to join the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Since the Society’s founding in 1776, 17 U.S. presidents, 40 U.S. Supreme Court justices and more than 130 Nobel Laureates have been inducted as members. Nicole is a 2014 graduate of Battle Mountain High School and a current senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in environmental studies and minoring in urban planning and Hispanic studies. Nicole is the daughter of Jack and Beth Affleck, of Wolcott.
