VAIL — The Vail Film Festival presents the final event in the Winter Screening Series on Saturday, with the Oscar-nominated film “Youth,” an Italian comedic drama that follows Fred (Michael Caine), a retired composer and conductor, who vacations at a Swiss spa with his longtime friend Mick (Harvey Keitel). As Mick crafts what may be his final screenplay, Fred is given the opportunity to perform for the Queen. The film premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

The 13th annual Vail Film Festival returns April 7 to 10. Organizers recently announced the lineup for the festival, which will showcase 67 films from around the world, including narrative features, documentaries, short films, student films and a Hong Kong Film Showcase. Twenty-eight of the films are making Colorado premieres, and 11 of the films are world premieres. The Vail-based Gore Valley Citizens Alliance has announced it has filed for “judicial review” of the town’s decision regarding the Booth Heights workforce housing project. That request was filed in 5th Judicial District Court in Eagle.
