If you want to play golf at Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Royal Portrush without leaving Eagle County, head to Beyond Golf in Eagle Ranch and try out the new golf simulators that were installed this fall.

Beyond Golf opened as a bar and kitchen this spring, but the simulators were still being built by a company called GOLFZON (pronounced golf zone) and manufactured in South Korea.

“People have been loving the golf simulators. People come in, they watch some football, play some golf, we have a server that comes right to you and we’re doing Happy Hour specials and other deals while you play a round,” said Patty Hindman, general manager at Beyond Golf.

The weather is always perfect at Beyond Golf. With Eagle Ranch Golf Club closed for the season and Gypsum Creek closing in a few weeks, it’s time to head indoors to get your golf fix.

“We’re excited to offer our Flex Leagues December 1 through March 15 and our Tournament Series is offered on select dates between now and mid-April,” Hindman said.

The Flex League is for two-person teams being offered for $300 per player for one hour time blocks per week and match play scoring for 12 weeks, plus playoffs. The Tournament Series are four-person ($75 per player) or two-person ($60 per player) scrambles set at courses like The Ocean Course at Hokuala, Hawaii, Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland or El Camaléon in Mayakoba, Mexico.

Beyond Golf offers two new golf simulators at their location in Eagle Ranch. Join leagues or play in tournaments to keep your golf skills sharp.

There are a couple of key features that really make GOLFZON one of the top simulator brands in the world right now. One of those features is the multi-surface hitting mat which simulates fairway, rough, bunker and putting green surfaces. It’s also on hydraulics, so the whole platform that you are standing on is going to lift, tilt and shift to simulate each course’s terrain.

The simulator is also going to give you all kinds of data like ball speed, launch angle, spin rate and your azimuth, which is the deviation from your target line (is your ball left or right of your target). To get this data, GOLFZON uses high-speed cameras for accuracy versus relying on computer generated graphics. The cameras watch your golf ball and what it’s doing after the point of impact. GOLFZON has over 250 patents on its technology, and it was honored with the Golf Digest Editor’s Choice award for “Best Simulator” from 2017-2021.

Pricing for the GOLFZON simulators at Beyond Golf is $60 Monday-Thursday and $75 Friday-Sunday. There are a variety of golf passes you can buy if you want to take advantage of the savings. Hindman said you can get gift cards, too, which might be a great gift idea with the holidays coming up.

Beyond Golf, which started in the suburbs of Omaha in 2009 primarily as a place to swing the golf clubs during Midwest winters, has just switched up their offerings for the winter. You’ll find a lot of smoked meats on the menu due to the indoor, electric, self-contained smoker. There’s also a variety of shareables, soups, salads, a kids’ menu and the Cookie Skillet of the Day on the dessert menu.

“We have dinner specials every day and Happy Hour deals Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. and Happy Hour all day Sunday,” Hindman said.

Patrons of Beyond Golf in Eagle Ranch enjoy the sharables on the menu. Beyond Golf is open daily and is now offering golf with two GOLFZON simulators.

Her best advice for those wanting to use the golf simulators?

“Make a tee time,” Hindman said. “With leagues and tournaments, we want to make sure we can accommodate everyone. Spots can be reserved online.”

Play 9 or 18 holes, practice on the driving range or play games like closest to the pin. Over 250 courses are offered on the GOLFZON simulators. Beyond Golf hopes to add two more simulators this spring.

“If you’re thinking of hosting a holiday party, we’re a great place to do it. Your guests can dine, drink and golf no matter what the weather is like outside,” Hindman said.
