Toddler drowns in Vail creek

VAIL, Colorado – A 2 1/2-year-old boy drowned in Gore Creek Sunday morning after falling in during a walk, authorities said.
The boy was walking with family members, but no one saw him fall in around 9:55 a.m. near the Wren Condominiums in Vail Village, town spokeswoman Suzanne Silverthorn said.
The boy’s body was found east of the Cascade Resort about 20 minutes later by a construction worker. Two passers-by gave the boy CPR, Silverthorn said.
The boy, whose named has not been released, was pronounced dead at Vail Valley Medical Center, she said.
The family is believed to be from out of town, she said.
