Pain at the pump: Colorado High Country residents adjust routines as gas prices spike
As gas prices in Colorado mountain towns soar past the $4.50 mark, residents are starting to adjust their driving behaviors — and potentially, their summer plans.

Before moving to Colorado, Andrea interned as a publishing editor for The Wall Street Journal in New York City through the Dow Jones News Fund. Prior to moving to New York, she wrote for the Idaho Stateman’s business desk as a reporting intern.
Andrea’s reporting work has been recognized by the Idaho Press Club, which awarded her the awards for best serious student feature and editorial in 2021, and second and third place awards for best agriculture report and general news story in 2022.
Andrea is a graduate of Boise State University, where she worked as the editor-in-chief of the university newspaper, The Arbiter. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in integrated media and strategic communications, and a Top Ten Scholar award.
When she’s not working, Andrea likes to read, try new recipes, and explore some of Garfield County’s hidden charms.
