What impact do stored emotions have on your physical health? How do you release the pain you carry, the wall that your subconscious has built to protect you, to open yourself back up to love and free emotional barriers that are linked to depression, anxiety, physical pain and more? On Monday, at Eagle River Presbyterian Church in Avon, the Vail Symposium welcomes Dr. Bradley Nelson, author of “The Heart Code: Opening Your Heart to Love Again,” for an illuminating evening that introduces a practical framework for identifying and dissolving the energetic barriers that keep us closed off from deeper connection.
Drawing on decades of experience in holistic healing and energy work, Nelson unveils The Heart Code — a step‑by‑step approach designed to help people recognize where emotional pain is stored in the body, release old patterns and reconnect with a more open, resilient heart. Rather than offering vague platitudes, he presents specific tools and perspectives aimed at transforming how we relate to ourselves and others after loss, heartbreak or prolonged stress.
“Most of us carry emotional baggage we don’t even realize is there,” said Nelson. “When we learn how to decode and gently clear those trapped emotions, we can move out of survival mode and back into a life where love, joy and authentic connection feel possible again.”
Nelson is known for his work at the intersection of energy medicine and emotional well-being, guiding people to release stored emotional energy as a way to improve both mental and physical health. In his first bestselling book, “The Emotion Code,” Nelson explains how traumatic and painful life experiences can cause emotions to become trapped in the body. In “The Heart Code,” he focuses specifically on the heart as an energetic and emotional center, exploring how unresolved experiences can create invisible walls that affect relationships, self‑worth and overall vitality.
“This program touches on something nearly everyone can relate to,” said James Kenly, executive director of the Vail Symposium. “Whether you’re navigating heartbreak, healing from loss or simply wanting to live with a more open heart, Dr. Nelson offers a thoughtful, actionable pathway to more compassion — for yourself and for others.”

The evening will feature Nelson’s presentation followed by an audience Q&A, allowing attendees to ask about applying “The Heart Code” in real life: from rebuilding trust after a breakup to shifting long‑held patterns of self‑criticism or emotional numbness. This program is part of the Vail Symposium’s 2026 consciousness and wellness offerings, exploring how inner transformation can shape our outer lives and relationships.
